HSBC provides scholarships for visually impaired

The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) Ltd in Bangladesh has joined hands with Blind Education and Rehabilitation Development Organization (BERDO) to provide scholarships to a number of visually impaired persons.
In support of BERDO's activities, HSBC has donated funds for scholarships for 50 visually impaired students. This is a continuation of HSBCs support of BERDO activities from previous years.
Staff from a variety of departments visited the premises of BERDO and interacted with the students at the time of the donation.
HSBC is committed to promoting diversity and providing opportunities for people from all backgrounds. HSBC is therefore proud to be able to offer support to BERDO.
BERDO has been operating in the country since 1991 raising awareness about the challenges faced by blind and disabled people. BERDO provides them with access to education, Medicare and training with a view to helping them attain greater social and economic freedom.
